The Role
We are looking for a Staff Fullstack Software Engineer to join our team, with an initial focus on Authentication Engineering and Identity and Access Management. Over time, this role may expand to other domains, offering opportunities to work across various aspects of our platform.
You’ll play a key role in building and evolving the systems that secure our users’ accounts and their interactions with Linktree. While experience in authentication and identity is a plus, it is not a requirement—we will have an authentication consultant to provide domain expertise. Linktree is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $220,000 - $240,000 in the San Francisco Bay or Los Angeles area. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate expertise, scope of role, and level, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

What You’ll Own
- Design, Develop, and Deploy Fullstack Solutions: Build scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems, with an initial focus on authentication and identity management.
- Token Management: Ensure secure handling and management of authentication and authorization tokens across the platform.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and platform teams to design APIs and infrastructure that support authentication protocols and frameworks (e.g., OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML).
- Platform and Backend Security: Contribute to securing our platform, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and developer tools.
- Expanding Scope: While authentication will be your starting point, you’ll have the opportunity to work across different domains as our needs evolve.
- Ownership of Key Systems: Drive both the technical execution and vision for solutions, shaping critical components of our infrastructure.
- Fullstack Engineering Experience: You have a strong background in building and maintaining scalable, high-quality software solutions, ideally across both backend and frontend.
- Tech Stack Knowledge: Experience with our tech stack is a plus but not required: Typescript, Node.js, PostGreSQL, GraphQL, AWS (S3, EventBridge, SQS, Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, CDK), Snowflake. Our monolith also includes a PHP codebase.
- Leadership & Ownership: You’re comfortable leading complex technical initiatives with minimal mentorship and can drive the success of key systems.
- Excited About Learning & Growth: You enjoy working on foundational systems and are open to exploring new domains as our platform evolves.
- Experience in Authentication & Identity: While prior experience is a plus, a willingness to dive into authentication and security challenges is just as valuable.
- Payments Integration (Bonus): If you’ve worked with payment systems, especially in relation to authentication, that experience could be valuable but is not required.
