LinkUs is seeking an experienced Electrician to provide guidance and technical knowledge for a photovoltaic installation team. In this position, the Commercial Journeyman Electrician 01 will communicate the necessary job status data to the operations team to assure the successful operation and instillation of a complete and working system. The ideal candidate will also offer safety assurances, feedback to the team, adhere to the guidelines provided, and be a team player. Responsibilities
- Installing and maintaining the electrical equipment and wiring that connects the photovoltaic system to the electrical grid
- Installation of PV mounting systems and PV modules when necessary
- Ensure that all work performed complies with 2020 NEC code and workmanship
- Communicate the necessary job status data to the Operations team
- Be knowledgeable and comply with OSHA safety standards for the installation team
- Troubleshooting system problems and resolving electrical issues
- Train, mentor, and develop apprentices
Qualifications
- Valid state Commercial Journeyman Electricians 01 License, preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience installing photovoltaic systems, preferred
- Experience with data communications and monitoring systems, preferred
- Experience with grid-tied and off-grid battery and/or generator backup systems is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor
- Thrive in a team environment
Required Skills
- Working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply 2020 NEC requirements to PV systems
- Experience reading and interpreting one-line drawings and electrical schematics
- Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential and commercial electrical services and distribution panels
- Must be able to work with high voltage systems 600Vdc to 1500Vdc
- Must be able to work with services 240Vac, 208Vac, and 480Vac in single and three-phase systems (and other variations)
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces)
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, and stairs and work in high places
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs
