What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Inventory Control Aid WS, Student position at Linn-Benton Community College?
Under the direction of the Automotive Department Chair, student worker(s) will perform a variety of duties in support of the Automotive Departments parts inventory control. Candidates will assist in tracking, sorting, organizing and displaying automotive parts, materials, and supplies located at the Advanced Transportation Technology Center (ATTC) campus automotive parts supply room.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better to be eligible to work in a Learn & Earn student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Requires the ability to perform the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Must have good attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate a keyboard, computer, and scanner.
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of basic computer operations including keyboarding, up/downloading files, using the Internet, basic knowledge of MS Office applications and using email. (training will be provided on automotive program inventory control software)
Work environment is a balance of office, shop and storage room settings using computer equipment. Position involves periods of extended standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting and carrying light to medium weight (10-50 lbs.).
Essential Duties:
- Organize and display automotive tools, supplies, parts, and chemicals for easy identification.
- Assist staff in finding automotive tools, supplies, parts, and chemicals.
- Assist in receiving, stocking, facing and rotating supplies, parts, tools and chemicals in the parts room.
- Sort through items in parts room determining what is surplus, recycling, shred and garbage.
- Use computer to track supplies, parts, and chemicals ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Keep automotive parts room accessible and clear of boxes and debris
