Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Resident Manager to live at and oversee a senior low income housing property. This role involves light oversite of around 50 units in Albany, OR. Compensation is comprised of a rent-free two-bedroom apartment located within the property. Water and garbage paid by employer. Part-time hours worked are negotiable and very flexible but will never exceed an average of 22 hours in a one-week period. While hours are flexible, eligible candidate will need to be able to make themselves available with some consistency during the workweek.
Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
· Showing units to prospective tenants;
· Light cleaning of the interior and exterior common areas of the Property; Light maintenance when appropriate and as time allows (i.e. lock outs);
· Meeting and providing Property access to repair workers and service providers;
· Generally monitoring the interior and exterior common areas of the Property for disturbances, dangers, or damage and alerting Employer when attention for any of these issues is needed;
· Identifying and reporting to Employer any conditions in the Property that need repair or other attention and relaying complaints to Employer of any such conditions made by other tenants;
· Assisting the Employer with posting notices and unit inspections;
· Assisting the Employer with resident services by referring to the appropriate organization(s).
· Collect documents and forward them to the Housing Authority.
· Receive emergency phone calls with a phone provided by the Employer.
Preferred Experience (but not required):
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn the Fair Housing regulations.
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn laws pertaining to housing.
- Experience with property maintenance processes and vendor relations.
- Proficiency in using communications platforms such as email, cellphones and fax machines.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
