Responsibilities

1. Schedule or oversee scheduling of all resident MDS assessments to assure timeliness.

2. Coordinate and oversee all functions of the MDS assessment process to assure compliance with federal and state requirements.

3. Participate in the pre-admission process to determine potential residents’ level of care.

4. Participate in resident level of care determination upon admission.

5. Participate in tracking changes in residents’ level of care to assure timely scheduling of MDS assessments

6. Be familiar with residents’ condition and care needs.

7. Review all MDS assessments and related forms to certify timely completion by signing the MDS forms on the appropriate sections.

8. Review reports of timely completion of residents’ MDS assessments and care plans and take follow-up action as necessary.

9. Participate in the Quality Assessment and Assurance Program, for the nursing department, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Coordinator.

10. Analyze Quality Indicator reports for potential resident concerns and problems and review residents’ care plans to be sure this information is included.

13. Complete reports and assignments accurately and adhere to established time schedules.

14. Observe all policies and procedures.

15. Observe Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
