Full-time position working in the Linn County Road Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Perform the following Bridge Maintenance and related duties:

• Equipment Operator – Operate trucks with trailers, dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, forklifts,

motorized boats, and other construction and maintenance equipment.

• Operate gasoline, pneumatic, electric, and manual tools.

• Assist trained personnel in maintenance and rebuilding of wooden, concrete and steel structures.

• Assist in crane rigging, the driving of piling, building of concrete forms, placing rebar, pouring and

finishing concrete for piers, footings, etc. Assist with guardrail construction and maintenance.

• Ability to perform heavy manual work in adverse weather conditions

• Will lift up to ninety (90) pounds

• Other Duties as Assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate, and a minimum of one (1) year

experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges

• Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License Class A, with endorsements for manual

transmission, fifth wheel, air brakes, and tanker; and an acceptable driving record

• Basic knowledge of the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges, guardrails, and

culverts. Additional preference for welding experience.

UNDER-FILL NOTICE: This recruitment is an under-fill for the Bridge Maintenance Worker 3 position. An
applicant hired under this recruitment will be expected to qualify as a Bridge Maintenance Worker 3 within
two years of hire in this position, including obtaining a NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator’s Certification.

COMPENSATION: Range: $4,905 - $5,391 per month
