The Income Maintenance Worker authorizes Linn County funding and determines eligibility for other public assistance based upon verification of information provided and knowledge of programs. Work is performed under general supervision Veteran Services Director.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Interviews applicants and evaluates applications, documentation, and applicant responses for completeness and accuracy. Determines eligibility and authorizes or denies payments; explains the programs and the rights and responsibilities of the applicants and vendors. Generates rent, food, utility or burial applications using appropriate processes & appropriate computer programs.Identifies other benefit programs available to applicant and assists in the application process. Monitors the status of applications for other assistance programs including but not limited to, local housing and utility assistance programs; federal, state, and local benefit programs; and County Emergency Assistance benefits. Completes Interim Assistance Reimbursement (IAR) Forms and corresponds with Social Security regarding status of individual Interim Assistance Reimbursement (IAR) Forms. Completes appropriate forms to ensure Linn County receives funds following SSI determination.Prepares statistical data and reports for use by Program Directors or Coordinators.
