What are the responsibilities and job description for the ROADWAY MAINTENANCE WORKER (TEMPORARY) position at Linn County?
Three (3) temporary positions to operate a variety of equipment such as tractors, mowers and small trucks, chainsaws, pruners, brush chippers and other types of hand tools. Ability to assist in right-of-way planting and seed harvesting. Assist in placement and/or repair of road signs and other traffic service type facilities. Direct traffic during road maintenance activities. Assist crews on bridge and/or culvert projects. Performs other related work as required by supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent prior to start of employment required
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and ability in the operation of tools and equipment and the ability to learn operation of equipment
- Ability to perform manual labor
- Ability to work outside under various weather conditions
- Ability to follow safety rules
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must pass a County physical examination which includes a drug test after offer of employment
- Regular work attendance required
