About the Role
As a part-time custodian at Linn-Mar Community School District, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school buildings. You will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the school are clean, safe, and free from hazards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain designated spaces, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
- Maintain grounds and perform seasonal ground work, including lawn care, snow removal, and trash pickup
- Restock disposable items and manage inventory
- Assist visitors and staff with directions and provide excellent customer service
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs as needed
- Promote energy conservation and safety practices
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous custodial experience preferred
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:
The custodian will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The employee may be exposed to chemicals, cleaning supplies, and physical hazards.
