Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities and other special needs. This position is a fulltime awake overnight position. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized assistance and advocacy. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals in need, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring their rights and dignity are respected.
- Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Engage clients in social activities that promote independence and enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in behavior or health status to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care, dementia care, hospice care, and direct support.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is preferred; experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Certification in CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- A compassionate approach with a focus on enhancing client well-being through direct support services.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
