What are the responsibilities and job description for the Integrations Engineer position at Linq?
Job Title: Integrations Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL
Department: Technology
Employment Type: Full Time – In Office
Reports To: CTO
Compensation Range: $70,000 – $100,000/year Stock & Benefits
About the Role
We’re looking for an Integrations Engineer to join our platform team and help connect Linq to the tools our customers already use and love. From CRMs like Salesforce, HubSpot, and GoHighLevel, to platforms like Calendly and Zapier, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining the backend and frontend integrations that power critical workflows for our users.
You’ll work across both backend and frontend surfaces — sometimes wiring up APIs and webhooks, sometimes embedding key UI elements like our communications into third-party CRMs. Your work will directly impact our product's stickiness and customer satisfaction.
This is an in-office role in Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations with 3rd party platforms (e.g., CRMs, scheduling tools, automation platforms)
- Design and implement reliable, scalable backend systems for syncing and interacting with external platforms and APIs
- Embed frontend experiences into systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, and GoHighLevel
- Own the end-to-end experience of integration features — from auth to error handling to UX polish
- Collaborate with Product and Customer Success to understand integration needs and edge cases
- Write clear documentation and support materials for integration setup and configuration
- Help monitor, debug, and evolve existing integrations as APIs and use cases change
What We’re Looking For
- Strong backend engineering skills and experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and auth flows (OAuth, API keys, etc.)
- Experience building backend systems using technologies like Node.js, Express, Rails, using tools like Redis and Kafka; bonus if you’re also comfortable with frontend tools like React
- Experience working with event-driven architectures, message queues, or streaming platforms like Kafka and Pub/Sub
- Solid understanding of async workflows, retries, error handling, and rate limits when integrating with 3rd party APIs
- Experience delivering customer-facing features that integrate external platforms into your own product
- Clear communication skills, especially when explaining trade-offs or writing integration docs
Nice to Haves
- Direct experience integrating with Salesforce, HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Zapier, or Calendly
- Experience working with customer CRM data, field mapping, and contact syncing
- Familiarity with SDKs or APIs offered by 3rd party app platforms
- Background in platform engineering or developer experience
Why Join Linq?

- Competitive PTO and holiday policies
- Stock options — share in the growth you help create
- A unique opportunity to define how Linq connects with the rest of the SaaS world
- Collaborative, product-focused team working on real customer needs
- Live and work in Birmingham, AL — with its growing tech community and excellent quality of life
