Data Governance Analyst
LinTech Global Inc. is recruiting for Data Governance Analyst to support our USPSOIG contract at the Arlington, Virginia.
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Position Overview:
- Provides expert level advice around data governance, data management, and related data initiatives
- Assists with the development and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for data quality, integrity, and interoperability across a variety of data projects
- Works closely with the Data Governance Steering Committee and data stewards from other OIG components to provide policy implementation and oversight on lifecycle data management initiatives
- Participates in efforts to minimize duplication of data and works with analytics and information technology professionals to implement data quality best practices
- Assists with data monitoring and provides guidance on improving consistency of data management practices
- Helps establish and continuously develop the Data Steward capability, ensuring all business areas are properly represented in the Data Stewardship community
- Supports the development and roll out of employee-based training regarding compliance with data governance policies and relevant information management laws and guidance
- Helps establish data quality expectations, SLAs, and monitoring requirements
- Partners with data architects and business SMEs to expand and maintain the Enterprise Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, Data Lineage, and Report Catalog
- Helps establish data standards and practices that fulfill enterprise data policies
- Helps document data privacy policies and best practices Provides reporting and metrics to the Data Governance Steering Committee and business partners
Job Duties:
- Skill in applying data governance models, data quality programs, and data management practices, policies, and initiatives sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the quality, integrity, and interoperability of data throughout the agency
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Skill with data profiling, defining data quality rules beneficial
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form, with technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to work in an organized fashion, completing tasks in a timely fashion while paying attention to details
- Skill configuring and using a metadata management tool (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, etc.)
- Skill using data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
- Skill coordinating a data stewardship network
- Ability to routinely interact with multiple levels of the organization including the executive level
- Ability to work with the data warehouse users, IT Business Analysts, and developers
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Must have at least 2 years of specialized experience with performing data governance or data stewardship activities for a federal agency or private organization
