Following written instructions assembles a variety of components to produce sub-assemblies or finished product that meet requirements. Qualifications/ Responsibilities Has intermediate knowledge of soldering and possesses an active a J-STD-001 certification and passes a soldering skill evaluation Assembles handpieces, optical products, and various types of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic products according to written specifications and procedures and is capable of reading blueprints. Assembles, prepares, and molds various types of wire harnesses and cable assemblies Inspects parts, assemblies, and products throughout the production process Performs production tests on various assemblies, subassemblies and final products. Prepares cables with hardware, sets up and mixes various compounds, mold cables, trims and deburrs as required. Uses a variety of hand tools and manual, semi-automatic, automatic assembly test equipment. Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment Must be able to work all scheduled overtime Must have intermediate understanding of computers Performs preventive maintenance on tools, equipment and machines as required. Performs other related tasks including housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized Observes all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required and proposes safety improvement ideas Sustains and maintains 5S standards and all continuous improvement activities and proposes improvement ideas for production Communicates with the other shifts, if applicable, the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that might have an impact on their job. Requirements: A minimum 4-6 years experience as an electronic assembler with proven soldering proficiency Must be able to stand for up to eight hours per day, ability to move about, bends, stoops, uses hands and lift up to 35 pounds unassisted. Unaided visual acuity or corrected visual acuity should be at least 20/40 in each eye at infinity (20 feet) with the ability to distinguish colors.
