Greenhouse Team Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and dynamic Greenhouse Team Lead to oversee and adapt operations throughout the year in our retail garden center. This role requires flexibility to manage tasks that vary by season. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in horticulture, experienced in team leadership, and skilled in managing seasonal priorities to ensure smooth operations year-round.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service.
• Strong understanding of plants, gardening practices, and pest management
• Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of home décor trends & gardening
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays.

General Responsibilities:

• Assist manager in overseeing daily operations.
• Assist in supervising and training plant care staff, assigning tasks and providing guidance on plant care.
• Educate customers on plant care, including watering, sunlight, soil, and pest management needs.
• Unloading and stocking shipments, and maintaining an organized greenhouse to ensure a visually appealing retail environment.
• Water, fertilize, and prune plants to maintain health and appearance.
• Monitor for pests, diseases, or other plant health issues and take corrective actions.
• Restock shelves and displays with plants, soil, pots and other gardening supplies.
• Assist at point of sales system as needed.
• Participate in inventory counts and ordering as needed.
