Job Summary:
Responsible for overall operation of the facility, hire staff, purchase food and stock, and make sure everyone is
trained on proper food preparation, kitchen safety techniques and understand health standards. Make sure
Linville Land Harbor is represented correctly and our standards are upheld.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead their employees to make sure food is cooked and served quickly.
Ensure the proportions are correct.
Keep tabs on food cost, waste and employee hours.
Set work schedules.
Set daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Hire, train and discipline employees.
Do their best to optimize profit for Linville Land Harbor.
Control Expenditures.
Create the best experience for customers.
Develop and recommend policies for the Board of Directors through the General Manager.
Develop and submit annual requested budget(s) following guidelines established by the General
Manager.
Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Customer Service – When interacting with customers, be friendly and courteous to keep customers
returning.
Attention to Detail – Food Service Manger has to keep his/her eyes on a lot of elements: food standards,
costs, safety, etc.
Leadership – Must be a leader, rallying the team during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts and getting the
job done.
Organizational Skills – Keeping work schedules, shipments, cleaning schedules and organized is crucial
to the job.
Problem Solving Skills – Dealing with employee conflict, irate customers and wrong stock orders. Must
be able to come up with a solution quickly.
Speaking – Need to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give
orders and speak with customers clearly.
Credentials and Experience:
Must hold Serve Safe Certification, or ability to obtain in timely manner
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
