This role involves identifying repair needs, escalating complex issues, ensuring necessary materials are available, providing clients with equipment usage guidance, and maintaining detailed maintenance records.

What you will do:

  • Operate pump trucks to service tanks and related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
  • Identify repair or replacement needs and escalate complex issues to level 3 technicians or the Project Manager.
  • Ensure adequate materials and supplies are available to complete assignments.
  • Provide guidance on the proper use of equipment to clients or end-users.
  • Record and report on maintenance activities and equipment condition.

Pay Structure:

  • Hourly rate: $20/hour
  • Commission: 5% on applicable sales or service contracts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate pump trucks to service tanks and related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
  • Assist in diagnosing problems and failures in septic systems.
  • Install various septic systems under supervision.
  • Document activities to provide written support for performed tasks.
  • Assist in repairing pipes and ensuring safe functionality.
  • Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
  • Test for leaks in new and repaired systems.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, threading, bending, reaming, and installing pipe and fittings.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings as needed.
  • Locate and mark positions of pipe installations, connections, and fixtures in structures.
  • Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle.
  • Attend weekly departmental meetings.
  • Participate in periodic inventory and truck inspections.
  • Maintain tools and machinery in good condition, using them safely.
  • Explain services performed to clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide pricing to customers for approval before performing work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform multiple technical tasks including operating equipment and adhering to safety practices.
  • Ability to perform basic algebra and geometry, read technical information, compose documents, and solve practical problems.
  • Willingness to obtain or currently pursuing a plumbing license.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Class B CDL required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Normal or corrected vision for close and peripheral vision, depth perception.
  • Ability to work with or without accommodation for known disabilities.

Working Environment:

  • Field service environment with exposure to sewer and water smells, power tool sounds, dust, and debris.
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Extended work hours including day and/or evening shifts.
  • Local travel required.
