Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and implement rigorous, standards-aligned lessons tailored to students in grades 4-8.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes both academic growth and character development.
• Utilize student performance data from teacher-created and standardized assessments to inform instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Collaborate with other teachers to ensure continuity and consistency in curriculum and instructional practices.
• Engage families in their child’s education through regular communication and involvement in school activities.
• Serve as a mentor and case manager for students, supporting their academic and social-emotional development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and school improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• A Master’s degree in Education or relevant content area (preferred
• New York State Certification in 7-12 , Middle School Generalist Grades 5-9, or inclusive childhood 1-6
• Demonstrated success working in an urban school setting
• Strong data tracking and analysis skills
• An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, families and students
• A belief that everyone is gifted with a unique potential
• A commitment to character development and family partnerships
