Essential Responsibilities:
- Design and implement rigorous, standards-aligned lessons tailored to students in grades 4-8.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes both academic growth and character development.
- Utilize student performance data from teacher-created and standardized assessments to inform instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with other teachers to ensure continuity and consistency in curriculum and instructional practices.
- Engage families in their child’s education through regular communication and involvement in school activities.
- Serve as a mentor and case manager for students, supporting their academic and social-emotional development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and school improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- A Master’s degree in Education or relevant content area (preferred
- New York State Certification in 7-12 , Middle School Generalist Grades 5-9, or inclusive childhood 1-6
- Demonstrated success working in an urban school setting
- Strong data tracking and analysis skills
- An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues, families and students
- A belief that everyone is gifted with a unique potential
- A commitment to character development and family partnerships
Salary : $66,000 - $85,000
