What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Nurse - Special Needs Camp position at Lions Camp Badger?
Lions Camp Badger, a residential camp for special needs young adults, nestled in the beautiful hills of Spencer, is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate LPN or RN to care for our campers.
Experience working with individuals with special needs is helpful, but not required!
Age of campers is 6 to 60
Specific CPR/AED/First Aid certifications for Children's Camp as required by the NYS Dept. of Health need to be current. Please call for details.
Will require a valid Drivers' License and be able to pass a background screening.
Room and Board provided.
Will employ by the session or multiple sessions.
Sessions run from Sunday late morning to Friday afternoon.
Camp Sessions as follows:
- June 29 - July 4
- July 6 - 11
- July 13-18
- July 27-August 1
Staff Orientation/Pre-camp training will take place last week of June (2 - 3 days may be required)
Camp Nurse will be responsible for:
- Implementing Camp Medical Plan
- Screening camper medical information and history
- Collect, document, manage, and administer all medications
- Keep logs of all medical visit and maintain camper's medical history
- Report accidents/injuries to the Tompkins County Health Department
- Other duties as related to the camper health as assigned by the camp director
Schedule/Pay will vary according to experience: LPN range $800-$850/week; RN range $1200-$1500/week.
