What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class B Driver / Warehouse Associate position at Lions Floor?
SUMMARY
Responsible for transporting deliveries locally or over the road in accordance with company guidelines and DOT regulations by performing the following duties. Perform warehouse duties when delivery routes are not scheduled, similar to the responsibilities of a Warehouse Associate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Transports deliveries locally or over the road according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations.
- Utilizes liftgate and pallet jack safely when making customer deliveries
- Receiving and inspecting incoming inventory to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory in designated areas.
- Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts
- Communicates closely with Dispatch to ensure timely deliveries and reports challenges
- Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to the size of load and content description.
- Process shipment documents neatly and efficiently for each shipment and manages discrepancy documentation.
- Obtains and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation, and submits in a timely manner.
- Provides good customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company's image.
- Performs a daily DOT pre-trip inspection according to the checklist, and keeps an accurate copy in the vehicle at all times.
- Maintains a daily, legible DOT log book and submits as required.
- Balances and handles an expense account for each trip by recording all expenses and maintaining all receipts.
- Provides basic maintenance for vehicles such as maintaining vehicles in a neat manner and performing minor repairs.
- Maintains company gas credit cards, and valid/current proof of insurance and registration in vehicle.
- Ensures proper maintenance of vehicle and reports all accidents/damage/malfunctions to management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, including assisting in the warehouse and operating a forklift.

REQUIREMENT
- Must have a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must have at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.
- Must have an unexpired Medical Certificate.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to operate a truck with a manual transmission.
- Must have a forklift certification.
