SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Business Partner will assist with confidential People Operation functions as guided by the Human Resources Director including but not limited to: employee assistance, audits, policy implementation, learning & development, health and wellness benefits, payroll, recruiting, on and off boarding processes, FMLA/ADA compliance, employment verifications, company events as well as act as support for other administrative functions as needed ensuring processes are smooth, compliant, and aligned with the organization's mission to empower all individuals including those with visual impairments through meaningful employment opportunities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide support to the Human Resources Director by assisting with the confidential functions of the people operations to fulfill the strategic goals of the company as well as federal and state employment requirements.
• Foster positive relationships between management and employees, acting as a point of contact for employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
• Engage, translate, explain, interpret, read and respond to employees who may or may not have vision disabilities or other needs of support regarding HR related topics.
• Provide support to employees with disabilities to ensure they receive appropriate accommodation and support.
• Develop, coordinate and lead learning & development opportunities for employees.
• Support and assist with payroll processing including but not limited to new hire, termination, STS transportation bus pass tickets request and distribution pass/tickets to employees.
• Coordinate the recruiting process for Production positions. Including but not limited to posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling, and conducting interviews and facilitating job offers, pre-employment screenings and new and rehire onboarding.
• Support the administration of leave of absence programs, including FMLA, disability, and other related leave types, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Provide guidance to employees on their rights and responsibilities regarding leave of absence, ensuring clear communication and support throughout the process.
• Track and maintain leave records accurately and in compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Build effective relationships with external sources to build a pipeline of qualified applicants to support our recruiting strategic goals.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of company policies.
• Educate employees on available benefits and help them navigate enrollment processes.
• Stay current on changes to employment law, especially those impacting employees with disabilities, and ensure the organization’s policies reflect those changes.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
• File and coordinate with the Worker’s Compensation carrier and employees as it relates to on-the-job injuries.
• Support the development and enforcement of workplace health and safety policies.
• Assist employees with employment verifications.
• Assist with mobility training of employees as needed.
• Assist and train employees to use the Paycom system.
• Provide support for HR/company events including but not limited to employee meetings and special events
• Participate in meetings and represent LSI in the applicable capacity as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Business related travel is /- 5%.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (equivalent education/and or experience may be substituted)
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field
• Three to five years of human resources experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Paycom or similar HRIS experience strongly desired.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, including compensation and benefits, leave of absence administration, employee relations, performance management, compliance and payroll.
• Experience working or interacting with people with disabilities is a plus.
• Language translation abilities are strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills coupled with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in HR Software, Payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Must be able to work in an environment with changing noise levels caused by machinery, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
