Summary of Position
The primary purpose of your position is to assess, treat, and care for all patients in dual role capacity as a respiratory nurse and a floor nurse. You will assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain patient records, and select, assemble, check, and operate all respiratory equipment. You will provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by STNAs. To monitor the performance of STNAs and non-licensed personnel and provide education and counseling. Such supervision must be in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility and as required by your immediate supervisor to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

1. *Assess and Plan*: Assess patients’ physical and emotional needs, develop individualized care plans, and prioritize interventions.
2. *Implement and Evaluate*: Implement care plans, administer medications, perform treatments, and evaluate patient outcomes.
3. *Collaborate*: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
4. *Educate*: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease management, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.

1. *Assess and Manage*: Assess patients with respiratory disorders, manage oxygen therapy, and administer aerosolized medications.
2. *Ventilator Management*: Manage patients on mechanical ventilation, including setting adjustments and troubleshooting.
3. *Respiratory Therapies*: Perform respiratory therapies, such as chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
4. *Collaborate with Respiratory Team*: Work collaboratively with respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate respiratory care.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing
- a registered nurse (RN) who has worked for a minimum of one year with ventilator dependent individuals
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Associate's degree or diploma in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $42 - $48
