We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Revenue Management team and support data-driven decision-making that enhances pricing, promotions, and overall profitability. This role will focus on analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and generating insights that drive revenue optimization. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to apply data science techniques to solve real-world business challenges in the food distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Analyze large, complex datasets related to pricing, promotions, customer behavior, and product profitability.
- Develop statistical and machine learning models to optimize pricing strategies and forecast revenue trends.
- Identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies to support revenue-enhancing initiatives.
- Development & maintenance of critical tools for use in the department & deployment through our salesforce.
- Business Insights & Decision Support:
- Provide actionable insights to key stakeholders by translating data findings into clear business recommendations.
- Support scenario modeling and simulations to assess the impact of pricing and promotional strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Category Management teams to align data-driven strategies with business goals.
- Data Management & Visualization:
- Clean, structure, and maintain data pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Python-based visualization libraries.
- Support data automation efforts to improve efficiency in revenue management processes.
- Collaboration & Continuous Learning:
- Work closely with senior data scientists and revenue management professionals to develop analytical solutions.
- Stay up to date with emerging data science techniques and tools relevant to revenue management.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and documentation for data science projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, predictive modeling, or revenue management (internship experience included).
- Technical Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced in Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Sound experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
- Strong skills in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly or Matplotlib / Seaborn.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Alteryx experience is a plus (data manipulation, macros, machine learning libraries)
- Tableau & Power BI experience is a plus (basic worksheet creation, dashboard publishing, user management)
- Business & Analytical Skills:

- Basic understanding of pricing, revenue management, and financial principles is a plus.
