Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This role requires a strong understanding of multi state payroll regulations, compliance, and benefits administration, as well as the ability to manage payroll for seasonal and full-time workers.
Qualifications & Skills
- 4 Year BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPP – Certified Payroll Professional is a plus
- 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in agriculture, produce or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with UKG and/or similar payroll software (e.g. Workday, ADP, Paycom or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with employees and leadership.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience managing payroll for seasonal workers is a plus.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement of salaries.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings, deductions, and reporting.
- Time & Attendance: Oversee timekeeping systems, ensuring accurate records for hourly, salaried, and seasonal employees.
- Benefits & Deductions: Administer payroll-related deductions, such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and garnishments.
- Audit & Reporting: Prepare payroll reports, manage payroll audits, and collaborate with finance for reconciliation and compliance.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review payroll processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll aligns with workforce management.
- Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of ~8 (some on site/some remote)
