What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney - Intellectual Property position at Lippes Mathias LLP?
Lippes Mathias, LLP is seeking an associate with 3 to 8 years of intellectual property litigation experience to join its New York City office of its national IP litigation practice. This associate should have a passion for intellectual property litigation and be willing to learn, grow, take on responsibility, have direct client contact, conduct depositions, and make court appearances.
The associate will be involved in all aspects of IP litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Our cases include trademark, patent, copyright, unfair competition, trade secret, Hatch-Waxman proceedings in the Federal District Courts, Circuit Courts of Appeal and State Courts throughout the U.S. as well as proceedings before the International Trade Commission and in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Requirements include membership in good standing in the New York State Bar, a minimum of 3 years of IP litigation experience, ability to be present in the NYC office at least 4 days per week and to travel when needed, good writing and public speaking skills, and while a science or engineering degree is helpful it is not required. You will need to be a good team player and have the desire and ability to take on growing responsibilities in addition to research and drafting to include direct client contact, leading the discovery process, taking and defending depositons and appearing in Court and before other tribunals.
Salary range DOE: $110,000 - $170,000 DOE
The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
