It involves instructing on essential cardiac surgery equipment, extracorporeal circuit components, and other pertinent perfusion responsibilities. Additionally, you’ll be able to train and assess students in cardiopulmonary bypass management using the Califia Simulator. Experience with the Califia Simulator is preferred yet not required as the Cardiovascular Perfusion Program will provide training with the Califia Simulator.

Requirements:
- Certification and/or licensure: CCP/LP/CP in Cardiovascular Perfusion required
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience
- Experience utilizing high-fidelity and low-fidelity training techniques
- Experience utilizing the CALIFIA simulator
- Ability to instruct and evaluate students in the fundamentals of:
- Heart-lung systems, including heater-coolers
- Components and assembly of the extracorporeal circuit
- Priming the extracorporeal, including cardioplegia components
- Managing cardiopulmonary bypass
- Perfusion math
- Drug preparation and delivery calculations
- Cannula selection
- Physiological assessment
- Autotransfusion
- ECMO/VAD
- Pre-bypass preparation
- Post-bypass activities
- Universal precautions
- Crisis Resource Management
