What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lipscomb Academy Summer Day Camp Staff position at Lipscomb University?
Day Camp Staff, under direction of a Camp Program Director, and in observance of the Lipscomb Academy mission, is responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions: leading children through camp activities, participation in camp activities, supporting lead teachers, providing a high level of safety and fun for children from ages 2 years old to rising 5th grade. Counselors help facilitate camp activities and supervise campers. He/she is responsible for knowing the whereabouts of each camper in his/her charge at all times during duty hours. May be Federal Work Study eligible for University student workers.

Patient, enthusiastic, self-controlled and dependable.
Duties and Responsibilities
Completion of all paperwork and documents required by Human Resources, Business Office, and Lipscomb Academy
Completion of staff training
Works closely, cooperatively and amicably with lead teachers and all camp staff
Creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere for campers
Leads a group of up to 10 campers ages 3-12 with a fun, positive and outgoing attitude while acting as a role model
Stimulates campers’ interest in individual and group activities through participation and interaction
Demonstrates positive attitude and actions
Monitors appropriate student behavior and adherence to camp rules and regulations
Notifies the Day Camp Director if he/she must be absent or late for duty for any reason
Handles emergency situations in conjunction with the Camp and Program Director
Performs other duties as assigned
