Maintenance Description:
In cooperation with the retail manager, identify, prioritize, and make repairs and maintenance on the following:
- Pumps, piping, and tanks
- Application and nurse equipment, forklifts, pickups, and all rolling stock.
- Containment dikes and load/unload pads, mixer
- Any other capital asset on the property
- Ensure all equipment and rolling stock have been repaired and maintained before the fall/spring seasons.
- In cooperation with the retail manager, decide whether plant personnel or an outside vendor should perform specific repairs.
- Organize and maintain a record-keeping system to record and schedule maintenance activities on all plant equipment, rolling stock, and fixed assets.
- Maintain, organize, and stock parts and tools in the shop.
- Individuals should be able to weld.
- Safety, environmental, and property appearance:
- When working at the facility or operating company vehicles on the road, personal safety and the safety of fellow employees must always be the highest priority. Twin State/Liqui-Grow policies must be followed at all times.
- To prevent contamination of the facility, always handle fertilizers, crop protection products, fuel, micronutrients, stormwater, and rinsate water in an environmentally responsible manner. In the event of a spill, either at the facility or during transport, always follow Twin State/Liqui-Grow company policy and DATCP state regulations regarding reporting, containing cleanup, and disposal of affected soil and property.
- Maintain the facility and rolling stock to reflect a positive and professional image for Twin State/Liqui-Grow.
- Keep the facility, grounds, and buildings clean, picked up and orderly.
- Thoroughly understand Twin State’s safety manual and comply with company and OSHA standards for maintaining a safe workplace, including ensuring safety equipment is available and in working order.
- Teamwork:
- Work cooperatively with all full-time and part-time employees to foster a spirit of teamwork, mutual respect, good customer service, and a professional image for yourself and Twin State/Liqui-Grow.
- All other duties as assigned.
Commercial Vehicle Operator Description:
- Conduct a pre-trip inspection of the truck they are driving in the morning and a post-trip inspection at the end of the day.
- Assist in loading the truck with fertilizer and/or pesticides.
- Assist the custom applicator in the field by transferring the product from the nurse truck to the applicator.
- Drivers should be able to read a plat book and follow directions to deliver loads to the correct fields for application.
Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-drug test
- Must have a good driving record
- Must have or be willing to get an Applicator's License/CDL - Twin State will facilitate
- Application/ ag equipment experience is ideal but not required
- Willingness to be trained on equipment and maintenance procedures
