Position Overview:
The role of the Regulatory Intern includes: research, identification, collection, interpretation, documentation, and entry of appropriate regulatory information for the responding to regulatory requests relating to 3rd party request, updating of LES’s regulatory database (FOGlaw); the sharing and reporting of information to support LES Team Member’s work; assistance as needed to LES Legal and Environmental, Health and Safety, and Accounting departments. The role will require contacting internal field personnel and the appropriate regulatory agencies, and sharing of information with Team Members as directed. Regulatory Intern will be required to work well as part of a team, and to also be self-sufficient in achieving individual work assignments.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct research into state, county and municipal regulations related to sanitary sewer systems, grease interceptors, used cooking oil, oil water separators, industrial transportation and wastewater treatment plants via internet and telephone.
- Enter data into spreadsheet and database
- Update regulatory data currently in spreadsheet/database
- Identify potential for public/private partnerships between cities and LES
- Document review and interpretation of internal document retention policies
- Basic office work

Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree required, preferably in Environmental Science.
