Position Description
The role of the Regulatory/Safety Analyst includes:
- Administrative Owner of the LES FOG Law Database: Including the research, identification, collection, interpretation, documentation, and entry of appropriate regulatory information for the updating and maintenance of LES’s regulatory database.
- Administrative Owner of the EH&S systems/reporting: Including MYM, Incident Tracker, NOV Tracker and Spill Tracker.
- Assistance, as needed, to LES’s EHS and Legal departments, and administrative operations.
- The sharing and reporting of information to support LES Team Members’ work.
Responsibilities
- Independently conduct research into state, county and municipal regulations related to sanitary sewer systems, grease interceptors, used cooking oil, oil water separators, industrial transportation and wastewater treatment plants via internet and telephone.
- Research and identify new data for entry into spreadsheet and database.
- Update and maintain regulatory data currently in spreadsheet/database.
- Work closely with Field Ops/Customer Solutions to satisfy customer inquiries and requirements related to regulatory compliance
- Work closely with the Director of Environmental Compliance on initiatives as needed.
- Support the e-manifest project.
- Maintain the MYM system and keep current.
- Maintain the Safety incident tracker and lead the monthly incident reviews.
- Basic office work.
- Adhere to all company policies (to be presented and explained in orientation).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced undergraduate or graduate level required. Preferably in environmental sciences.
- Ability to assess the need for and maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
- Strong problem solving skills and research skills required.
- Ability to understand how ordinances work/how grease traps work – need to read/understand ordinance.
- Strong interpersonal skills over the phone and in person with the ability to effectively work with others to solicit and share information.
- Team player that can also work independently with a positive attitude and must be very comfortable with continuously changing tasks, opportunities, priorities, and personalities
- Comfortable with repetitive and routine tasks that require follow-up
- Organized and analytic in thinking style and approach to work.
- Flexible and adaptable when requested to make change in work assignment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High energy and the ability to manage multiple assignments initiatives and work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
