Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will load and unload containers of product using a forklift as designated by the schedule. Daily inspect forklifts and always adhere to established safety procedures. Maintain clean and organized warehouses. Receives functional guidance from Manager, Production Planning and Shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect forklifts daily prior to use and report all issues and damage.
- Unload trucks using a forklift
- Check incoming containers for accuracy against schedule
- Properly store received containers in designated areas
- Pick containers from stock based on schedule
- Load containers into trucks using a forklift
- Accurately complete warehouse paperwork
- Identify and report discrepancies
- Montor supply of containers and report when supplies are too low or too full
- Maintain clean and organized warehouses
- Adhere to established safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to safely and effectively operate a forklift
- Ability to count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly
- Ability to effectively follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to follow established safety practices
- Ability to ready, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with others at various levels in the organization
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills to use MS Outlook, internet, and company LMS
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience operating a forklift
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Previous warehouse experience
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work outside in all types of weather including cold, heat, and inclement weather
