Our Day Services Direct Support Professionals assist individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to acquire, retain, and improve skills in a variety of areas directly affecting their ability to live as independently as possible and experience the joys of participating in Art, Music, Culinary, and a variety of classroom-based and field trip opportunities.
Assisting in areas including but not limited to routine housekeeping tasks, administration of medications, attending medical appointments, money management, nutrition, grocery shopping, personal hygiene, proper use of appliances and adaptive/assistive devices, home safety, first aid, and emergency procedures, our DSPs are an integral part of the individuals’ lives through the implementation of a person-centered, individualized plan that enables those we serve to take part in thriving and vibrant communities.
As a DSP, you will be providing socialization assistance/training which aids in home living and community participation, provide transportation as needed to complete above activities as specified in the individual service plan, and work with individual and/or family on goals identified in PCISP (Person Centered Individual Service Plan).
Additional expectations include the ability to complete all required written documentation and supporting reports of services provided; Manage a variable work schedule with good attendance and punctuality; Complete ongoing in-service and other educational training.
Our Direct Support Professionals are expected to:
· Maintain ethical relationships with individuals by interacting respectfully, fostering independence, and refraining from neglectful, abusive, or exploitative actions.
· Communicate effectively with staff team, family, and other stakeholders.
· Look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies.
· Complete timely/accurate documentation.
· Attend staff meetings and regular training.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass background checks. Must be willing to work non-traditional hours (as required) to meet individual needs (evenings, weekends, and holidays). Valid Driver’s license, a working vehicle, personal vehicle insurance, and confirmation of agency insurability as an acceptable driver (subject to position). Must maintain reliable transportation. Excellent work and personal references required.
Weekend Premium:
Staff will receive a $1.00 increase to their hourly rate of pay.
Midnight Premium:
Staff will receive a $1.50 increase to their hourly rate of pay.

Salary: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
