What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant position at Lisa Safe Haven?
Summary:
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. The Assistant Teacher assist the Lead as needed with the implementation of curriculum as defined by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC) and preparedness of school readiness. This position requires active participation with the children, families, other members of the teaching team to assess and address the needs of individual children. The Assistant Teacher is expected to present a positive and professional image of Lisa Safe Haven Child Care, LLC. Every Assistant Teacher is expected to actively and effectively work on varies teams as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Daily compliance to strict sanitation procedures (classrooms, toy, etc) and health and safety precautions.
2. Have working knowledge of weekly age-appropriate curriculum (lesson plans) and assist Lead Teacher with implementation as needed to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
3. Pull materials for the upcoming lesson plan and distribute to the Lead Teacher at the end each week.
4. Accurately follow the posted classroom schedule
5. Accurately follow the planned weekly curriculum
6. Conducts child development screenings and on-going assessments in a timely, accurate manner (daily documentation)
7. Accompanies Lead Teacher on parent teacher conferences and home visits when requested, and conducts in absence of Lead Teacher
8. Have working knowledge of parent volunteer program (In-Kind) and weekly activities.
9. Complete required number daily documentation
10. Effectively communicate through parent portal as needed
11. Completing all required paperwork on-time with accuracy
12. Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and at home.
13. Communicates necessary information to ensure the safety and well-being of children
14. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and daycare training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence (in person and virtual)
15. Reporting to work daily and on-time
16. Report all incidents, unusual events and/or alarming situations or behaviors to HR, CEO and/or COO.
17. Other duties assigned.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate in person or over the telephone with employees, applicants, and other customers. - The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach; bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- This position must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is required to have fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling and correspondence.
- This position must be able to work with all individuals in a positive manner, and must be familiar with stress management and conflict resolution techniques. Must be able to tolerate a high degree of stress, and have the physical agility and emotional stamina to respond quickly, appropriately and effectively to emergency situations.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential encouraged
- Computer knowledgeable
- Current negative TB (tuberculosis Test)
- Some experience working with children is required
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups.
- Acceptable Criminal (state and county) histories
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
