Retail Bakery Shift Lead

As a Shift Lead at Liscio’s Italian Bakery, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our new store due to open in the first quarter of 2025. This position includes opening and closing the store, managing inventory, and supporting the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager with employee relations, coaching, and counseling. Additionally, you will handle customer complaints and maintain excellent customer relations.

Responsibilities:

• Opening and Closing the Store:
  • Ensure the store is ready for business at the start of each day.
  • Secure the store at the end of the day, ensuring all security measures are in place.
• Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure products are well-stocked.
  • Manage product maintenance and rotation to avoid damages or spoilages.
  • Remove outdated and damaged products from shelves and storage areas.
• Employee Relations:
  • Assist the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager with coaching and counseling employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure a productive and positive work environment.
  • Supervise deli counter to ensure prompt services to customers.
• Customer Relations:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage high volume of customers efficiently and courteously.
  • Respond to customer queries promptly and accurately.
• Operational Duties:
  • Observe sanitation and safety procedures to offer quality services.
  • Perform slicing, cutting, weighing, and pricing of products.
  • Transport products to preparation or storage areas when needed.
  • Keep the store shelves loaded with products at all times.
• Incident and Injury Reporting:
  • Assist the Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager with employee and customer incident and injury reports.
  • Handle workers' compensation claims and general liability claims promptly and accurately.
• Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation and packaging of deli products.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA GMP standards and all established policy and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 8-10 hour shifts, 5 days a week, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing and able to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Willing and able to stand for prolonged periods with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Willing and able to read documents and labels.
• Willing and able to perform tasks that include pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
• Experience in customer service and basic math preferred.

Work Environment:

• Duties are performed primarily in the Deli department and front counter.
• Work includes walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting deli products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Duties also include frequent interaction with customers and associates.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Day and night shifts
• Holidays and weekends availability

Experience:

• Basic math: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

• Weekends (Mandatory)
