Summary/Objective
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the total operations of the store, with a primary focus on the upcoming launch of our third new Retail Store in Glassboro, NJ. This position entails monitoring the quality of goods and service, staff training, scheduling, and budget management. Additionally, the Retail Manager sets standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, professional appearance, and overall profitability. This is a working manager role with holidays and weekends required.
Essential Functions
- Create and distribute the weekly schedule to all employees.
- Manage weekly store orders or oversee delegated shift manager orders.
- Enter all received products into Heartland POS for inventory.
- Conduct monthly store inventory.
- Supervise Shift Managers duties.
- Conduct New Hire interviews and manage onboarding processes.
- Evaluate employee performances through annual and merit reviews.
- Issue disciplinary actions to employees as necessary.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge.
- Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with Management to establish and achieve budgetary goals.
- Work with Management to develop a merchandising plan.
- Oversee the House Account System, handling all cash transactions, petty cash, and audits.
- Ensure store cleanliness, fronting, and stocking standards are met by staff.
- Educate staff on Health Inspector, Weights & Measure, and Fire Department requirements.
- Address and resolve customer complaints.
- Review and approve missed punches weekly (PayCom).
- Monitor, enforce, and comply with Liscios Italian Bakerys policies and procedures.
- Contribute to and support social media outreach and marketing initiatives.

Work Environment
This position entails frequent exposure to temperature extremes and dampness. Potential hazards include equipment movement, electrical shock, and exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to frequently reach, lift, and maneuver objects weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are necessary.
Travel
Periodic travel to the corporate office, other retail locations, and occasional trade shows may be necessary.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience working in a high-volume Retail and/or Bakery environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous management experience in a high-volume Bakery environment.
