SUMMARY :
The Senior Automation Engineer maximizes efficiency of aerospace fastener production by implementing new machines and processes. They must consider ergonomics, workflow, safety, quality standards, and workforce utilization to develop the most reliable and efficient processes using the latest technology.
The Senior Automation Engineer is expected to lead automation projects from start to finish and possess a high level of technical expertise in Robotics, electronics, PLC, integration, and mechanical design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design, develop, build, and test automation and robotic systems for new and existing equipment.
- Create electrical schematics and design control panels using AutoCad Electrical.
- Create solid models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
- Enter machine drawings, electrical schematics, BOMs into machine manuals with the correct labeling.
- Responsible for design, budget preparation, planning and scheduling, procurement, installation, and commissioning of capital projects.
- Drive automation improvements and implementation to improve Operator safety, Machine efficiency, and plant capacities.
- Diagnose mechanical and / or electrical problems and determine corrections.
- Document cost reduction initiatives for design implementation, maintenance, and repair work.
- Ensure systems meet safety, quality, and production rate requirements.
- Assist in the research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment.
- Coordinate product / process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Conduct machine PLC programming; diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug software programs.
- Conduct research on robotic technology to create new robotic systems or capabilities.
- Perform tool design (fixtures) using computer-assisted design applications.
- Collaborate with production management to analyze data and identify opportunities for automation.
- Work under limited supervision with creativity and latitude.
- Comply with rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Attend all required job-related training.
- Share insights, solutions, and best practices within the team.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other automation team members.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Education and / or Experience :
Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills : Advanced knowledge of PLC programming software / languages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and CAD proficiency.

Pay Scale : $98,000.00 - $148,000.00
