Position Summary:
The Senior APU Manufacturing Planner will develop and accurately maintain production schedule for assigned APU (Autonomous Production Unit). This position is responsible for understanding the flow of work inside assigned area to identify, resolve or otherwise escalate risk associated with achieving on-time delivery. This position will communicate customer order promise delivery date and planned shipments dates to ensure backlog/ financial shipping projections are accurate. This position will manage the day-to-day movement of product through outside services to meet on time customer delivery. This position will be responsible to monitor and adjust MRP scheduling parameters to optimize manufacturing flow
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain accurate production schedules to meet committed ship dates using appropriate ordering strategies (MRP, Kanban, etc.). Release manufacturing orders, monitor production schedules and expedite the flow of materials and orders to ensure ship dates are met. Engage in effective collaboration to resolve any current or potential issues.
2. Accurately communicate order delivery and shipment dates. Report risk associated with sales revenue and create appropriate recommendations for resolution. Work collaboratively to deploy risk reduction plans to achieve shipment goals and escalate as necessary.
3. Collaborate with APU members to develop tools and procedures to maximize facility and equipment utilization, improve quality, and implement process improvements.
4. Assist in the management of inventory levels, including monitoring assigned shop orders and inventory items to ensure objectives are met.
5. Assess the impact of New Product Development and Engineering Change Orders. Execute and monitor as required.
6. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and initiate efforts to support LEAP principles including the deployment of alternate and optimized planning methods within the ERP system or MRP processes.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering or Business or equivalent combination of work experience and education
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing planning roll using an ERP based planning system
· Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment
· Intermediate to Advanced level MS Excel skills to include the use of linked spreadsheet, pivot tables, and v-lookup functions.
· Able to navigate web/ internet-based order management systems.
· Ability to work fluidly to improve performance of the APU or Department
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
· Experience working within a ISO / Medical devise environment.
· LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application.
· APICS course work toward CPIM or CIRM certification.
The most qualified candidate will also possess the following
· Advance education in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Engineering
· Advanced education or job experience applying analytical skills to focus on data-based problem identification resulting in root cause problem identification and resolution
· Lean/6 Sigma Black Belt with 2 years of work experience in manufacturing environment
