Immigration interviewer for Humanitarian Cases LATAM

The Interviewer will complete several interviews (generally 5) with the client regarding mistreatment and hardships they have experienced while coming into and/or while living in the United States. The Interviewer is expected to communicate clearly, maintain professionalism, and ensure the interview process is efficient and effective. They must create a bond with the client quickly to obtain as much information as possible to assist in writing the declaration. Candidate must be fluent in both Spanish and English.

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

·        Over one appointment, acquire as much detailed information from the client about hardships and abuse as possible to assist in the writing of the declaration

·        Follow and complete a structured questionnaire based on case type in English while interviewing the client in Spanish

·        Submit the questionnaire to the Team Lead to review and then upon approval, set up a follow-up interview with the client, if necessary.

·        Upload completed and approved client questionnaires into the client’s folder

·        Update the status of the interviews and any contact with clients in the case management system accurately and timely to ensure a timely completion of required             tasks

·        Ensure that you escalate client situations to the appropriate leaders when necessary. This includes instances involving dissatisfied clients or any other                             circumstances that require a calm and considered approach, especially when emotions are high

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

·        Possesses excellent bilingual (English & Spanish) interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Excellent customer service experience

·        Ability to multitask and type while listening to a client talk

·        Excellent Listener and ability to ask relevant follow-up questions

·        Attention to detail and accuracy in recording responses

·        Adaptability to changes in a fast-paced environment

 

Minimum Qualifications

·           Bilingual (Spanish, English) B2-C1

·           High-school diploma or equivalent experience

·           Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

·           Previous work experience as an interviewer for difficult situations with children or families. (Not a must-have law firm experience)

·         Background in psychology, education, social work, or any non-profit/community service role assisting families, children, or adults in challenging situations. Experience in crisis management, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed communication is highly valued. The role requires strong interviewing, analytical, and documentation skills, along with the ability to work with diverse populations facing complex immigration challenges.

Minimum 25mbps network speed 

Schedule: Tuesday to Friday 2pm-11pm EST & Saturday 10am-7pm EST

Pay rate: $7/hr
