What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervising Immigration Court Attorney position at Lisinski Law Firm?
The Supervising Immigration Court Attorney will have the opportunity to help establish and lead a growing court program so we can better serve our nationwide client base of primarily Spanish-speaking undocumented immigrants. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate with at least 5 years of experience independently representing clients in immigration court. The right individual will also have experience managing and motivating a team of attorneys and legal support staff in a positive and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Key stakeholder in helping to establishing a high-volume, nationwide court practice and responsible for managing a team of attorneys and legal support staff to execute practice plan
- Work with our operationally focused attorneys and staff to create procedures, processes, and best practices for immigration court team
- Manage and supervise the immigration court team, including attorneys and paralegals
- Set goals and manage team workloads
- Oversee the development of templates for legal briefs and drafts to use as a foundation for immigration court filings
- Train and supervise to ensure team follows procedures and best practices
- Collects and reports team data, progress, and needs to legal team leadership
- Represent clients in removal proceedings
- Draft and edit legal documents
- Develop and maintain network of contract attorneys to provide coverage across the country
- Stay informed about legislative, regulatory, administrative, and case law changes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar.
- 5 years of experience in immigration court and removal proceedings and in filing with EOIR
- 2 years of managing others

- Bilingual in Spanish and English
