What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Specialist - Aquatic Facility Operator position at Lisle Park District?

Major responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at all park district facilities including light plumbing, HVAC and electrical repairs. Maintains and repairs swimming pool motors, pumps and filtration equipment.
- Maintains appropriate inventories of maintenance and aquatic supplies.
- Safely operates snow removal equipment, including snowplow, snowblowers, and salt spreaders, and performs snow removal and ice clearing as needed.
- Regulates the water chemistry of Sea Lion Aquatic Park through hourly readings and adjusts chemicals as needed.
- Oversees the mechanical operations at Sea Lion Aquatic Park, ensuring all systems function properly.
- Supervises and delegates tasks to seasonal staff.
- Opens and/or closes Park District facilities as schedule requires.
- Operates Park District vehicles for errands.
- Administers contracts and warranties for maintenance products and external services.
Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of a 2-year technical college education or equivalent through progressive work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, including experience in general building and grounds maintenance, repair and aquatic operations.
Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License with excellent driving record. Must obtain Certified Pool Operator and Aquatic Facility Operator Certifications within 6 months of employment. CPR, First Aid and AED Certification preferred.
Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision abilities, and strong manual dexterity. Requires extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting, and operating equipment. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, including bags of chemicals. Anything lifted over 50 pounds must be achieved with assistance (mechanical or team-lift).
Will require working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Will work with exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents.
Typical work week is Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm with occasional weekends and evenings in the summer.
Pay is based off previous experience. The wage scale for this position is $44,615.22-66,922.82 but the hiring range is $44,615.22-$55,000.
