Candidates must be aged 21 and above, possess a valid State of Illinois Driver's License, and demonstrate the ability to pass a Lisle Park District Driver's test.
Key Details:
- Staff Training: Tuesday, May 27th - Friday, May 30th
- Camp Dates: June 2nd - August 8th (no camp on July 4th)
- Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:45 am – 5:15 pm
- Extended Hours: As required
- Interviews: To be conducted between February and March
General Description: As the Summer Sports Camp Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the camp's daily operations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for campers. You will provide leadership to a team of Summer Sports Camp Counselors and serve as the primary point of contact for parent communication. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Recreation Manager-Athletics & Fitness to design and implement weekly camp lesson schedules and activities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Camp Operations Oversight:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Summer Sports Camp.
- Ensure the implementation of high-quality sports programs and activities.
- Maintain a safe and supportive camp environment for all participants.
- Staff Supervision:
- Provide leadership and guidance to Summer Sports Camp Counselors.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
- Monitor counselor performance and provide feedback as needed.
- Parent Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parent communication.
- Address parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with camp families.
- Collaboration with Recreation Manager:
- Work closely with the Recreation Manager-Athletics & Fitness to develop weekly camp lesson schedules and activities.
- Collaborate on program enhancements and improvements based on participant feedback.
- Administration:
- Manage camp registration, paperwork, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Prepare reports and evaluations as required.
- Health and Safety:
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols in accordance with camp guidelines and regulations.
- Coordinate with appropriate personnel to address any health or safety concerns.
- Obtain First Aid and CPR & AED certification before camp commences (training provided if necessary).
- Supplies/Equipment/Facilities:
- Oversee the procurement and maintenance of camp supplies, equipment, and facilities.
- Ensure the proper use and storage of all resources.
- General:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the Lisle Park District.
- Adhere to all park district policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
