What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Lessons Instructor position at Lisle Park District?
The part-time seasonal swim lesson instructor is responsible for the instruction and safety of swim lesson participants during both morning and early evening hours. This position involves participation in training, staying up to date regarding new policies and procedures and proper response to emergency/medical situations. Swim lesson instructors may hold another position at the facility such as lifeguard or guest service, but this is not required. Pre-season training begins in early May.
Swim Lessons run from June 9 through August 2. Anticipated hours for the Swim Lesson Instructor position include:
- Mondays-Thursdays, 8:30am-11am
- Saturdays, 9:30am-11am
- Private Lessons offered at varying dates and times including mornings, mid-days, evenings, and/or weekends
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be 15 years of age or older.
- Candidate must successfully complete the preseason instructor training and attend in-service training throughout the season.
- Previous experience with aquatic instruction is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience with children of varying ages is required.
- Candidate must possess excellent leadership abilities and public relation skills.
- Candidate must be available for flexible hours during the summer.
Special Considerations:
- Position calls for working in high humidity and varying weather conditions.
- Position requires the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
