Part Time Therapist
Listening Ear Crisis Center is a private nonprofit, United Way human service agency based in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, serving mid and northern Michigan. Since 1969, we have grown from a 24-hour crisis service supporting 200 people to a multi-service organization assisting over 30,000 individuals annually. Position Overview: The part-time therapist will work with children ages 3-17 and their families, providing therapeutic services such as assessments, individual counseling, and treatment planning. This role offers flexible scheduling to meet the needs of youth and their families. The therapist will support clients in addressing various behavioral and emotional challenges and working closely with family members to create a cohesive and supportive treatment approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting individual and family therapy.
- Collaborating with treatment team members to discuss client needs, coordinating services, and discharge planning.
- Provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Participates in activities related to prevention, awareness, and treatment of mental health.
- Participates in quality assurance, process improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Completes all necessary documentation within 72 hours of client’s scheduled and kept appointment in order to bill for services in a timely manner.

- Acts as part of the multi-disciplinary team and attends Provider Meetings, as appropriate.
- Remains current with professional credentialing and knowledge base with the scope of practice.
- Participates in community outreach events as needed.
- May provide services at various sites across Isabella, Clare, and Gladwin counties.
- May provide Telehealth with approval.
- Responds appropriately to emergent situations.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work.
- Current Michigan licensure as a LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, or LMSW.
- Strong understanding of trauma, therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and part of team.
