Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through timely deliveries and professional service. While you are not delivering, you will also be working in the warehouse. You will be receiving, putting up stock and pulling orders.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload products at various locations, ensuring that items are secured properly during transit.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing fuel consumption.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and any necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organization.
Experience
- Previous experience in delivery driving or commercial driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems is essential.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling of goods is required.
- Knowledge of forklift operation is a plus.
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles is advantageous.
- Background in moving or warehouse operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
