What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Assistant position at Litheos Marketing + Design?
This is a contractor position for approx. 80 hours monthly, covering a wide variety of marketing tasks, including social media, graphic design, copywriting, email marketing, web design, event planning, and more.
You’ll primarily work remotely with a flexible schedule. Some availability on nights and weekends will be necessary to attend in-person events in the Knoxville, TN area for social media content creation and event planning support.
This position is an ideal way to gain experience with a wide range of marketing skills to prepare you for an eventual role as a project manager, marketing director, or CMO.
You’ll excel in this role if you’re highly detail-oriented, enjoy using both creative & analytical skills, and have a knack for learning new things quickly.

Core Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management - Develop a content plan, collaborate on copywriting and visual content creation, schedule posts, manage social media engagement.
- Event Coordination - Manage communication, venue research, event registration, and day-of set up for local networking events.
- Email Marketing - Create newsletters and other promotional emails, including copywriting, photos/graphics, and list management.
- Graphic Design - Create graphics for events and social media in Canva and Photoshop, edit print materials using InDesign (such as booklets, sales sheets, signage, proposals, etc.)
- Photo Editing - Edit photos in Photoshop or Lightroom to adjust exposure and correct white balance.
- Reports & Analytics - Gather data from social media, Google Analytics, Eventbrite and other platforms. Compile data in Excel and create reports using Piktochart (similar to Canva).
- Document & Resource Management - Organize digital files and resources, updating processes and other info as needed.

Details: This is a contract role for 80 hours per month with the potential to increase to full time by the end of the year.
Compensation: $20 per hour, negotiable depending on experience
