• Diagnostic skills: Quickly identifying the correct parts needed for repairs or maintenance.

• Patience: Addressing customer concerns with empathy, especially in situations where parts are out of stock or there are delays.

• Knowledge of available parts packages: Recommending add-ons or upgrades to customers that can improve their vehicle’s performance or longevity.

• Sales experience: Promoting parts that may benefit the customer based on the condition of their vehicle.

• Efficiency: Managing a high volume of customer inquiries while ensuring orders are processed quickly and accurately.

• Prioritizing tasks: Handling urgent orders or requests while balancing ongoing customer service interactions.

• Familiarity with inventory and ordering systems: Using software to look up parts, track inventory, and place orders.

• Understanding of online parts catalogs: Navigating digital platforms to find and order parts.

• Willingness to learn: Staying updated on new Toyota parts, technology, and industry standards.

• Experience with automotive parts: Previous experience in the automotive parts industry or with Toyota vehicles is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

As a Parts Advisor you will be responsible for providing vehicle parts and merchandise to customers while providing exceptional customer service.

• Answer telephone and greet customers & vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Maintain clean and professional appearance of counter, work area, and stockroom.
• Interact with the Service Team to coordinate parts for vehicle repair and service.
• Order parts from suppliers based on Service Department and customer requests.
• Receive, unpack, and store parts in appropriate storage areas so they are readily available when needed.
• Takes inventory, maintain records of goods received and keeps perpetual inventory controls.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Process core returns, parts warranties and parts returns as necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous parts advisor experience, preferred
• Understand basic automotive components and systems
• Automotive dealership service experience is a plus
• Any automotive certifications is a plus
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence
