Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Battery Assembler is accountable for working as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of lithium batteries for the oilfield industry. This role is based in Houston, Texas at our Charger Industries location.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Prepare battery cells and/or assemble battery packs including the use of a tack welding machine
• Ability to understand and interpret work instructions, workmanship criteria, and drawings.

• Assemble wire harnesses and end caps for use in battery packs, including:
• Solder, including fuses, diodes, connectors and wires etc.
• Assemble wire harnesses and end caps for use in battery packs
• Handle fiberglass tubes
• Comprehend wiring diagrams and test batteries for proper connects as indicated on the drawing
• Clean and prepare batteries for final quality control inspection
• Package batteries to be stored in inventory
  

Qualifications & Competencies

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of production processes in a related industry preferred
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and rotate to other functions as needed
• Great communication and collaboration skills, including fluency in speaking, writing and reading English
• Must be able to stand entire shift and lift to 45 lbs. at a fast pace
• Working knowledge of computers and office software
• Technical and mechanical aptitude
• Organizational and time management abilities
• Required to work overtime as scheduled
