What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher: School Age Summer Camp position at Lititz Christian School?
Assistant Teacher : FULL- TIME
Lititz Christian School is a family environment where our teachers and staff are valued, cared for and equipped to teach the children in our care. Our summer camp & afterschool program cares for children at Lititz Christian School, Warwick and Manheim Central school districts. This unique role will also give the potential applicant the skills and opportunity to grow in leadership, administratively and the education field.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the director and lead teacher to assist, oversee and engage with the students in your care.
- Work with the Early Learning Center team of teachers and contribute by giving oversight, ideas and creativity to the program.
- Work with your after-school team to apply the weekly lesson plans submitted by the coordinator for your site.
- Oversee a group of 12 students during the summer camp experience.
- Engage with students daily and engage with on site activities and off site field trips as scheduled.
- Become familiar with the DHS regulations for childcare. (Department of Human Services).
- Assist in creating a strong sense of community among staff and children.
- Attend all required staff training and meetings.
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm or 8:45 am - 5:15 pm.
Requirements:
- High energy, engaging, and a team player
- AA Degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Must successfully pass all background checks, including fingerprint and reference checks.
- Ability to interact with children and the school age team, give direction and vision when needed.
- Minimum of 2500 hours of Childcare experience or equivalent education courses completed.
- Engaging, upbeat and warm personality.
- Enjoys working with children.
- Excellent communication, team player qualities
