SUMMARY - The Principal of Lititz Christian School serves as the instructional and operational
leader for the K-12 school, ensuring academic excellence and alignment with the school’s
mission to develop students spiritually, academically, and personally. This individual will guide
and support teachers, students, and families while upholding a Christ-centered environment of
growth, collaboration, and innovation.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Leadership
● Conduct regular teacher evaluations to ensure effective instructional practices and
professional growth.
● Oversee internal department evaluations to ensure academic rigor and alignment with the
school’s mission.
● Stay current on evidence-based teaching practices and integrate them into the school’s
instructional approach.
● Collaborate with the Leadership Team and the Education Subcommittee of the Board to
set and implement future academic goals.
● Oversee the master schedule to optimize student learning and teacher effectiveness.
● Collaboration with faculty and school administration team members regarding issues
affecting educational performance, including curriculum selection, assessment of student
performance, educational resources, and use of student data.
Faculty Management
● Active participant in the hiring process for new teachers, including recruitment,
interviews, and onboarding.
● Approve faculty time-off requests and manage substitute coverage to ensure minimal
disruption to learning.
● Supervise and support faculty performance, fostering professional growth and
accountability.
Student and Family Engagement
● Foster meaningful relationships with families, students, and staff, ensuring open
communication and trust.
● Develop and enforce clear, consistent, and biblically grounded disciplinary policies that
promote a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered school environment.
● Support the admissions process by serving on the Admissions Committee to evaluate
potential students.
● Be committed to the process of discipling students and faculty for Christ.
● Serve as a visible and approachable leader, maintaining a strong presence at school
events and in the daily life of the school.
Operational and Strategic Leadership
● Work closely with the Head of School and Assistant Head to align faculty and program
goals with the school's strategic plan.
● Facilitate internal and external communication to ensure clarity and alignment within the
school community.
● Monitor internal academic department evaluations, ensuring growth, collaboration, and
consistent standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
● Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
(required).
● Minimum of 5 years of teaching and/or school leadership experience in a Christian
school setting preferred.
● Strong ability to coach and mentor faculty while fostering a collaborative and supportive
environment.
● Demonstrated knowledge of K-12 curriculum development and instructional strategies.
● Excellent organizational skills to manage complex schedules, evaluations, and
departmental audits.
● Outstanding relational skills to build trust and partnerships with students, families, and
staff.
● A deep commitment to the Christian faith, rooted in a personal relationship with Christ,
serving as the foundation for decision-making and leadership.
WORKING CONDITIONS
● Full-time, 12-month position.
