Compensation and Benefits

Recruitment and Selection

Program Objectives
- Provide intern with hands-on experience in various operations at Little America.
- Develop a well-rounded understanding of each department’s role listed below.
- Enhance intern’s skills in guest service, operations, and management.
- Prepare intern for potential full-time opportunity at Little America.
Program Structure
- Duration: A 14-week paid internship
- Rotation System: Intern will rotate through all departments listed in the Departmental Roles and Responsibilities section, spending approximately 1-2 weeks in each area, depending on business need
- Mentorship: Assign member of the Senior Leadership Team as a mentor to guide intern and provide feedback.
Departmental Roles and Responsibilities
- Front Desk & Gift Shop: Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, learn property management system, handle guest inquiries, answer phones, cashier, and maintain gift shop inventory
- Restaurant & Coffee Shop: Support restaurant and coffee shop staff, learn about menu offerings, assist in service, and understand point-of-sale systems.
- Banquets: Support banquet staff, participate in event setup and breakdown, coordinate with event planners, and ensure guest satisfaction during events.
- Kitchen: Assist in food preparation in all areas of the kitchen, understand kitchen operations, and maintain food handling standards.
- Housekeeping & Laundry: Assist housekeeping team with room cleaning, understand housekeeping standards, manage inventory of housekeeping supplies, Assist laundry team with operations including sorting, washing, drying, delivering and inventory management.
- Golf & Pool: Assist Resort Activities team in course and pool operations, learn about memberships, manage tee times, test water quality to ensure compliance with Department of Health guidelines, and provide quality service to guests
- Sales: Support the Sales and Catering team in client meetings, prepare sales materials, and understand sales strategies.
- Human Resources: Participate in recruitment processes, assist with employee onboarding, assist with admin tasks and understand HR policies.
