Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive learning environment for students. This role is essential in helping to enhance the educational experience, particularly for students with diverse learning needs. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with educators to implement curriculum and assist in various classroom activities.
Duties
- Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Support students in their learning by providing one-on-one or small group assistance.
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance.
- Facilitate a safe and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assist with classroom management and maintain discipline among students.
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute ideas for lesson planning.
- Support literacy education initiatives, including reading and writing activities.
- Engage in early childhood education practices, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Collaborate with staff to create a nurturing atmosphere that encourages student growth.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in special education practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum development processes and educational standards.
- Strong background in math concepts to assist students effectively.
- Ability to educate and inspire students through engaging teaching methods.
- Experience working in daycare or childcare settings is an asset.
- Knowledge of private school environments and their unique educational approaches.
- Understanding of early childhood education principles, particularly Montessori methods.
- Proficiency in literacy education strategies to support reading and writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
